About Me - A Journey of Resilience and Inspiration

Associate Teacher & Caretaker

Caitlyn Parvin's journey is a remarkable testament to the strength of the human spirit. Born in April 2003, Caitlyn faced significant developmental challenges, being born prematurely at just 28 weeks. Through it all, her mother, Lisa Mitchell, founder of Everything Under The Rainbow, provided unwavering support, advocating for Caitlyn's well-being.

Learning to walk and talk at the age of seven, Caitlyn defied expectations, earning her the label of a true fighter. Born with a hole in her heart and water on her brain, Caitlyn's determination propelled her forward, surpassing medical prognoses. Over the years, Caitlyn's path was marked by an array of therapies - occupational, speech, physical, play, and hippotherapy. These efforts, orchestrated by Lisa, played a crucial role in Caitlyn's development.

From stabilizing with a safety belt for desk seating to reading at a collegiate level, Caitlyn's progress has been nothing short of astounding. Her natural artistic talent and love for creation shine brightly, nurtured by Lisa's guidance. Caitlyn's ability to work harmoniously with others, especially her affinity for helping younger children, reflects not only her innate qualities but also the values instilled by her mother. Lisa's dedication to providing support, especially in light of Caitlyn's diagnoses of developmental delay, failure to thrive, and autism, has been instrumental in her journey and has had a positive influence on others facing similar challenges.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Caitlyn contributes to her community, working part-time at a plant nursery in Woodstock. Here, she is embraced by a team that appreciates her unique qualities and journey. As Caitlyn approaches the completion of her high school credits, she looks ahead to Chattahoochee Technical College in the spring, a testament to her love for learning and her own drive to achieve.

Caitlyn Parvin's story is one of triumph over adversity, guided by the steadfast support of her mother, Lisa Mitchell. It is a narrative that celebrates resilience, determination, and the boundless possibilities that emerge when love and unwavering belief light the way. Caitlyn has been raised to understand that a diagnosis does not define her, for she is not broken. Rather, each diagnosis is a meaningful part of her remarkable journey, one marked by strength, determination, and boundless potential. Her journey stands as a powerful source of inspiration for us all.
